《시궁창의 99가지 질문들》은 사랑하는 사람의 죽음을 겪은 후 삶을 향해 생기는 여러 의문들이며, 동시에 이전에는 보이지 않았던 삶에 내재된 부조리함에 던지는 원망에 가깝다. 수많은 질문들은 검은 종이 위에 인쇄되어 풍경(風磬) 끝에 매달려 있다. 질문들은 하나의 줄로 연결되어 있어 하나하나 자세히 보기 위해서는 필연적으로 다른 질문들은 건드리게 되고, 종이에 연결된 종이 나지막하게 울린다. 샤먼들이 종과 방울을 흔들며 사자를 소환하듯이, 연속해서 울리는 종소리는 산 자와 죽은 자에게 동시적으로 질문한다. 영원히 답을 찾을 수 없는 미해결의 질문들은 도저히 이어질 것 같지 않은 삶과 죽음을 연결시키기 위한 시도이며, 그 연결의 목격자이자 가담자로 관람자를 초청한다.

99 Questions from the Gutter unfolds as a series of questions posed to life after the loss of a loved one. It is both a lament for the absurdities embedded in existence—previously unseen—and a resentment toward them. The questions, printed on black paper, are attached to wind chimes. To closely examine one, viewers inevitably disturb others, causing the wind chimes to ring. Much like shamans shaking bells to summon spirits, the continuous ringing resonates with both the living and the dead, simultaneously posing questions to both realms. These unresolved, unanswerable inquiries attempt to bridge the chasm between life and death, inviting the audience to bear witness to and participate in this fragile connection.
